Cropping an Image Stack

The crop tool allows unwanted sections of an image stack to be removed. To crop a stack you first need to select it. Cropping is only enabled if exactly one image stack is selected.

After the stack has been selected click on the stack cropping tool in the tools dialog or select Adjust Crop from the Edit menu. You then are able to resize the dimensions of the crop rectangle by clicking and dragging the corners or the edges.

The image below shows an example of what the crop rectangle looks like.

When you are done aligning the cropping rectangle select Crop from the Edit menu to complete the operation.

You may also right-click anywhere on the workspace and select from the following floating menu.

Select Crop to complete the crop operation. Select Cancel to end crop mode and leave the stack unaltered.Select Adjust... to bring up the following dialog.

You may manually enter the dimensions of the crop rectangle in the 4 edit boxes. VIAS will automatically clip the values and/or assure that the rectangle is normalized.( left <= right and top <= bottom )

Note that the crop operation is automatically cancelled if you select another tool before completing the crop.
