The VIAS Workspace

VIAS uses the concept of a workspace to maintain information about stacks that are to be integrated into a single volume. A workspace allows continuity of use of the program by allowing the user to select and align some stacks, close the program, and reopen the program at a later time and continue to work with the same set of stacks.

Each workspace is in fact a file where information about the stacks and their relative position and state is maintained when the program is closed.

Since the program maintains only projections of the stacks, it is important that the stacks are not removed from their current location in the disk until after the volume is integrated. For these reasons, manual editing of the workspace file is not recommended.
