Our research program is focused on chemotherapeutic approaches of brain tumors. Our studies are built upon pharmacokinetic [PK] and pharmacodynamic [PD] principles with the goals to understand the mechanism underlying drug disposition and dynamics in tumors. This tumor-directed PK/PD focus allows us to build PK-PD models that characterize the measured data [i.e. drug concentrations, gene and protein expression] that provides the pharmacological underpinnings to extrapolate preclinical results to the clinic, and thus, provide a means to optimize new treatment strategies.
