| Jill Tolman (M.A., Physical
Anthropology) XRF Laboratory Clinical Coordinator |
| Jill was responsible for recruitment and
follow-up of participants in the LXRF study. Our Word and Reference
Manager expert, Jill constructed, validated and maintained our
citation database and performed all reference retrieval and literature
searches and produced literature summaries. She was also the guinea pig
for new software obtained to satisfy Dr. Todd’s addiction. She was in
the initial stages of data analysis for some of the completed XRF projects
and had completed training to perform XRF measurements when she departed.
Jill had recently completed the development and preparation of the
laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures and Instruction/Training
Manuals for use both by our laboratory staff and by our collaborators. She
also prepared correspondence and documents in connection with all
projects, both current and under development. In addition to extensive
telephone work to obtain information required by all laboratory staff, she
prepared manuscripts and other presentation materials for internal and
external presentation. Jill also had expertise in study coordination
and recruitment and in administering the neurobehavioral measurements used
in many of our studies to assess the health effects of lead, having
previously performed all these tasks for one of our collaborative studies
("Lead Mobilization, Neurologic Dysfunction and Surgical
Menopause"). Jill completed her M.A in Physical Anthropology at Columbia
University with a concentration on primate behavior and ecology.
Since her departure, Jill has continued to work on some of the lab's
projects, in her own time, for which we are very grateful. |
